Home Teeth Whitening
Having nice, white teeth has become an important part of the physical image. And although a lot of people go to dentists to undergo a teeth whitening treatment, not all of us have the time – or the money for these sessions. In these cases home teeth whitening becomes our best option to have a shinier, more attractive smile.
Home teeth whitening is possible nowadays thanks to the big selection of products available to use at home, they include special teeth whitening pastes, teeth whitening gels, strips coated with gel and more traditional tray-based products. These products are easy to find and buy without the need of any type of prescription by your dentist.
Besides these over-the-counter products, there are available a series of “home remedies” for teeth whitening, however not all them work as promised and some them can even end up damaging your teeth if not used properly. Let’s take a look at some of them:
Home Teeth Whitening Using Baking Soda
This remedy is very simple, you just need to use baking soda along with toothpaste when brushing your teeth. Although the baking soda won’t act as a bleach it will make your teeth look shinier by getting plaque off of them. Warning: Don’t use this method too much, since the enamel on your teeth can suffer damage.
Home Teeth Whitening Using Lemon Juice
Apply lemon juice just like when using a toothpaste, with your toothbrush. This is in fact a home remedy that you should stay away from. Lemon juice is an acid and it will hurt your teeth, leaving you with irreparable cavities on the enamel. Many people claim it works, but this is because they make the teeth lose calcium – a major component of healthy teeth. I’ll say it again: DO NOT USE THIS REMEDY FOR TOOTH WHITENING.
